Week 9 progress
I didnt work during week 8 as i had some personal stuff to deal with that made me unable to produce work.
This week i started on working on the landscape creation. I made a basic landscape made a landscape material using the material graph and a noise texture i created in Substance designer.
The material graph i made is located below
This graph Takes a selection of base colours and a noise texture to create paintable landscape textures. This is the colour and noise section. You can infinite add colour nodes for different environments. This shows the dirt colours All the colour textures are fed in this landscape layer blend node and this allows you to make layers in the landscape paint tool as layers. the noise goes in to the height sectionThe landscape layer blend dosent have the height option but by changing the blend type you can pull height in to the material. These sections allow you to be able to adjust certain parameters inside of for the material and these can be changed independently for each material instance.
These are the brightness and specular and Roughness nodes that all you to change these elements on the material as a whole.
Using this Material as a instance allows me to change parameters without having to change the base material allowing it to be more modular and reusable in later parts
this is a quick paint showing how you can make a versatile and none tilled landscape texture that can be used on multiple areas.
